The book "Victory and other events". Authors Ivan Paderin and Denis Orlov. This is the first gift edition dedicated to the GAZ-M20 Victory car. The new book by Gorkyclassic has turned out to be unprecedented in terms of volume and layering of information embedded in it. It tells about all the stages of the creation and production of the famous M-20 through the prism of events, from the defeat of the Nazi invaders near Stalingrad on February 2, 1943 to the launch of the first artificial Earth satellite on October 4, 1957. In the chronological order of the book, individual artistic and documentary short stories about personalities without which the legendary machine could not have appeared would have been woven - about the chief designer Lipgart, people's commissar Akopov, generalissimo Stalin and many other big and small people in their places. The largest and most comprehensive, central chapter of one hundred chapters of this book is devoted to the issues of genesis - the shaping of a unique victorious body. As a result, the primitive designs of this car, dated 1938 and 1940, were found, the works of the first Gazovsky stylist Valentin Brodsky were first demonstrated.
Another layer of the book is the almost unknown, as if nonexistent, topic of Soviet design and conceptualism of the 1930-1940s. Dolmatovsky, Rostkov, Aryamov - artists who left for future generations the dream of a beautiful car.
The history of sports “Victories” of factory construction — their records, take-offs, coups and defeats — is described in detail, illustrated as clearly as possible and put on shelves. Naturally, derivatives and copies of the “Victory” are not overlooked - the all-terrain vehicle M-72, Polish Warszawa. Book design is a special layer. The art director of Gorkyclassic Viktor Kuplevatsky made her completely unlike previous books and albums - the same "21", "GAZ 1932-1982" and "24. New Volga".
“Victory and other events” was prepared and printed using the technology of the 1940s, in one color, which best conveys the atmosphere of the narrative time. Новая книга издательства Gorkyclassic получилась невиданная по объёму и многослойности вложенной в неё информации. В ней рассказывается обо всех этапах создания и производства знаменитой М-20 через призму событий, от разгрома немецко-фашистских захватчиков под Сталинградом 2 февраля 1943 года до запуска 4 октября 1957 года первого искусственного спутника Земли. Удивительно, но эта взрывная эпоха практически полностью совпадает со временем автомобиля «Победа». Самая большая и обстоятельная, центральная глава из ста глав этой книги посвящается вопросам генезиса – формообразования уникального победовского кузова. В результате найдены первообразные проекты этой машины, датированные 1938 и 1940 годами, впервые демонстрируются работы первого газовского стилиста Валентина Бродского.
